Welcome to HelpKidzLearn! Our products support a variety of access options to ensure that all students can engage with our educational content effectively. Below, you'll find information on how to use different devices and assistive technologies to interact with our activities.

Access Options

Switch Access

Switch access allows students to control and interact with HelpKidzLearn products and activities using one or more external switches. Connect your switch device to your computer or tablet. Activities can be accessed through a variety of interactions based on their design and learning intentions. Some can be accessed via a single press of a switch (i.e. cause and effect), and others can be navigated using switch scanning. Take a look at our one switch progression guidebooks:

Touch Screen Access

Touch screens provide an intuitive way to interact with HelpKidzLearn products and activities by touching, tapping, drag and drop, and swiping directly on the screen. Simply use your finger or a stylus to interact with the content. Touch screen controls are supported on various devices, including tablets, touch-enabled monitors, and interactive classroom whiteboards or screens.

iPad Access

HelpKidzLearn products are fully compatible with iPads, allowing students to access and play activities seamlessly. Open the HelpKidzLearn Hub and activities, or website on your iPad. Use touch gestures to navigate through the activities. Ensure your iPad is updated to the latest version for optimal performance. For minimal browser requirements visit:

Mouse Access

For students using a traditional computer setup, mouse access provides a straightforward way to interact with content. Point and click to navigate through activities. You can also use the mouse to drag, drop, and interact with various elements on the screen.

Keyboard Access

Keyboard access is ideal for students who prefer or require a keyboard for navigation and interaction. Use keyboard shortcuts and arrow keys to navigate through activities. Some activities may support custom keyboard controls based on your preferences.

Eye Gaze

Eye gaze technology allows students to control the screen and interact with activities using eye movement. Set up your eye tracker or eye gaze device according to the manufacturer's instructions, including eye gaze calibration to ensure precision and accuracy. Activities can be accessed in a variety of ways based on their learning intentions and design. Some can be accessed via a single glance at the screen, where more difficult activities may utilise dwell selection.
